GENERAL SHOP HELPER - STORES

If you have Stock Room experience and looking for a great opportunity with a dynamic employee owned manufacturing company, Globe Engineering might be the place for you.  Globe was established in 1946 in Wichita Kansas where it produced child safety seats for automobiles. We have grown over the years and now we supply tubes and sheet metal parts to a variety of aviation companies throughout the world.   Globe Engineering is an employee owed company which means the profits are returned to the employees in the form of an excellent retirement plan, company stocks, bonuses and a solid benefits package.

Job Objective: Committed to being part of a positive working environment while providing quality products and meeting customer’s schedule.  Position will work in a variety of shops areas as needed.

Essential Job Functions:

·         Good mechanical skills.

·         Good communication skills.

·         Ability to read, understand and follow general job operations.

·         Frequently lifts 10 – 25 lbs.; occasionally lifts 50lbs.

·         Standing or walking for extended periods of time, including stairs

·         Ability to bend, stoop, twist and climb ladders.

·         Ability to pull a loaded pallet jack throughout the facility.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

·         Good mechanical skills

·         Ability to work in a manufacturing environment

·         Ability to understand and follow directions to complete assigned task.

·         Ability to count and assure that quantities, lot and part numbers are correct.

Work Environment:

·         Usual working days/hours: Monday thru Thursday 6:00am – 4:30pm; Friday 6:00am – 3:30pm.  Working hours are subject to change based on company needs, may require working on Saturdays or extended hours

·         Manufacturing shop environment

·         High noise and dust levels 

Equipment:

·         Pallet Jack

·         High School Diploma or equivalent

·         Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
